What should I name my dental practice? 2014-07-21T14:43:43+00:00

There are many important aspects to consider when naming a dental practice. Location, services, and whether you may ever decide to sell the practice are just a few considerations. We can help you navigate the trails to selecting a good practice name, then branding and marketing your practice.

What should my website’s domain name be? 2014-07-20T04:50:12+00:00

You should weigh all of your options before choosing a domain name. Perhaps you can use your own name, but maybe you should use the practice name. There is no value in using keyword-rich URLs any longer. However, a memorable domain name may benefit you long-term. We can help you select and purchase a domain name for your website(s).

Where will my website be hosted? 2016-10-13T16:00:27+00:00

We prefer not to host on our own servers, because your website host needs to provide 24/7 troubleshooting and optimal security. In most cases, we prefer that clients host their website in their own account at Bluehost or GoDaddy. We can help you set up your hosting account and manage your site once it’s live.

Does my website have to include a blog? 2016-10-13T16:00:27+00:00

No, but why wouldn’t it? A blog only improves search engine optimization. We build sites on WordPress, so you can add a blog immediately or later, once you’re ready to focus resources on SEO.

Why do you use WordPress website templates? 2016-10-13T16:00:28+00:00

Good question! 1) WordPress has an easy-to-use content management system, or CMS, so we can teach you how to manage your own website, if you want that responsibility. 2) Because WordPress is not proprietary to iDENTiwrite, you can take your site anywhere you like. 3) WordPress is very customizable, so you can have a beautiful, customized website at a reasonable cost. 4) WordPress features plugins for easier SEO, forms integration, slideshows, and more. 5) WordPressupdates automatically, so you won’t have to invest in adjusting your site frequently to meet new SEO and coding standards.

What is content marketing? 2016-10-13T16:00:28+00:00

Content marketing involves creating and publishing text online, on your website, blog, social profiles, third-party sites, etc. For many years, Google has been the largest search engine on the planet – and it still is. Google tells us that original, informative text is imperative to search engine optimization. In short, content is king. The text you publish should be authored by you or a ghost writer. That’s where we can help. Our copywriters are ghost writers, so you will receive all credit for the text we write for you.

Why do I need to blog so often? 2016-10-13T16:00:28+00:00

Everyone is publishing content these days. To rank high in Google for targeted keyword phrases (cosmetic dentist, for instance), you must also publish content – quite a bit of it, in fact. In a mildly competitive market, blogging two or three times a week can help with SEO. In a highly competitive market, you should blog four or five times a week. Blogging once a week will do you little good, when it comes to SEO. We advise clients who want to blog once a week to instead focus on social media posts.

What’s the purpose of a dental practice blog? 2016-10-13T16:00:28+00:00

A dental blog is not intended to draw followers. Who wants to read about root canals when they don’t need one? Blogs on dental websites have one purpose: to make a website rank higher in Google for targeted keyword phrases. Period.

Why do I need articles and press releases? 2016-10-13T16:00:29+00:00

To supplement the original content on your website and multiple blog posts per week, publishing articles or press releases on third-party sites provides a backlinkcredit for your overall SEO strategy. Oftentimes, new patients find a website through an article that showed up high in search results, rather than a dentist’s actual website! In addition, all those backlinks will add up to higher rankings for your website, because when reputable links point to your site’s URL, your site earns credit for being popular. Google is all about popularity.

Will I own what you write for me? 2014-07-20T04:59:45+00:00

Yes. 100%. No question.

Is all the content you write original? How is that possible? 2016-10-13T16:00:29+00:00

Yes. We have a plagiarism policy in place and will terminate anyone on our staff who duplicates content. Google wants original content, and our job is to provide it, consistently and prolifically, for our client dentists. How can we do this? Writing hundreds of unique articles about dental crowns takes creativity, a thorough understanding of dentistry, and knowing our clients’ philosophies and preferences.

Can I use the content on my website and blog elsewhere? 2014-07-20T05:00:27+00:00

You own the copyrights to all content that you purchase from iDENTiwrite. No one else will have the same text as you. While you can do as you wish with the writing, it is in your best interest, for SEO, to publish it in a single location online. You can publish it in print as often as you like.

What’s SEO? 2014-07-20T05:02:39+00:00

SEO stands for search engine optimization, and it refers to the strategy that results in how a webpage ranks on Google and other search engines. There is paid search, as with Adwords, for which advertisers pay per click, and there is organic search, which is determined by the content, links to, and longevity of a website. Many, many factors go into determining an effective organic SEO strategy, and search engines constantly alter their ranking algorithms, so SEO changes all the time. iDENTiwrite focuses on organic search because it is the best value for dentists.

What are rankings? 2014-07-20T05:02:59+00:00

A search rank, or ranking, is the position a webpage holds in search engine results pages (SERPs). The best position is page one, position one, for a specific keyword phrase.

What is traffic data? 2014-07-20T05:03:18+00:00

Traffic refers to how many visits a webpage receives.

How can you track SEO results? 2016-10-13T16:00:29+00:00

We rely on Google Analytics for many traffic factors, including but not limited to unique visitor count, average time spend on site, entry and exit points, keywords searched for, searcher’s location, and type of device used (phone, tablet, PC).

What can I do to improve my SEO? 2016-10-13T16:00:29+00:00

That’s a loaded question, and much of the information on our blog, newsletter, and website address it. In short, original content, metadata, incoming links, domain longevity, updating your site, regular blogging, and social media marketing help with SEO.

What’s the purpose of a dental website? 2016-02-21T07:29:00+00:00

A dental practice website serves many purposes. Most of your target patient base is online, and we know that 70% if web users search for healthcare services online. So, a well optimized, attractive, user-friendly website will bring you new patients. In addition, a website provides an opportunity for patient education, which you can use in your office, if you like.

Will a dental website bring me new patients? 2016-10-13T16:00:58+00:00

A dental website that’s properly optimized should definitely bring you new patients. Sometimes establishing an online presence in a competitive market can take a few months,  but within six months, even dentists in big cities should see new patients from their website.

Can I manage my own website? 2016-02-21T07:30:30+00:00

With iDENTiwrite, you can. We build websites on WordPress, which features a convenient content management system (CMS). We’ll be happy to manage your site or teach you how to manage the site yourself.

Can my website be in my own hosting account? 2016-02-21T07:31:07+00:00

Your website will be in your own hosting account, preferably at Bluehost, if we have any influence in the matter. You will own your domain name, website, and hosting account. We’ll just manage the site remotely, if you select a monthly support plan.

If I leave iDENTiwrite, can I take my website with me? 2016-02-21T07:28:20+00:00

Yes, but you don’t have to move the site. Because we build on WordPress, your site does not have to reside on our server. Your website will be in your hosting account, not ours. Simply change the password on the account and provide your new service company with the login information. Unlike some dental marketing companies, we believe that you should own what you purchase. After all, you don’t own your patients’ dentures and crowns!
